The less the unfriendlys know, the better. Be cautious of people who are overly enthusiastic when it comes to talking about illegal activities. The unfriendlys want nothing more than to set us up. I have an olde flip phone...no camera....but....

I don't fully trust it.

It too has more functions that I know how to operate..

Have not updated to a smart phone....I am not sufficiently smart...

Entrapment and Agents Provocateur

Some Democrats are planning to jail their perceived political enemies. This is a legitimate desire considering they regard anyone who is not compliant with their world view is an inferior deplorable.

Given our culture’s traditions they just can’t just start rounding people up. They need to use police state action.

There are several models useful for arresting dissidents in order to suppress them:

The Old British Method, from say the 19th and early 20th centuries was for the police to keep alert to anarchists and other trouble makers and then arrest them when they did something illegal. This method is generally respected, but is outdated. There is no entrapment involved.

The Czarist Russian Model involves making it a crime to hold certain opinions and using spies or informers to find out who holds the bad opinions, then arrest them and charge them with the crime of having their opinions. This method is also outdated and slow, but has the advantage of casting a wider net than just arresting actual criminals. There is no entrapment if you only accuse the people who have the bad opinions.

The most modern method is used most publically by the Chinese, there they target the person they don’t like, arrest them, question them, and eventually, if nothing else will work, just make up things about them that are so vague they could be true, for instance having disagreeable opinions, arguing with the state, or failure to adopt the attitudes proper for a socialist society, etc. Since there is no actual standard there is no need for entrapment.

But the traditional method of entrapping criminals, and dissidents, in the United States is the use of agents provocateur. These are either spies, or more likely involuntary informants, that are sent to join a dissident group, or better yet, who already are members of the dissident group. The agent provocateur then stirs things up in the group and reports back to his/her controller what they are doing. Often reports are not enough and surveillance devices are planted in places where the group meets or on the person of the agent provocateur. The agent provocateur can operate legitimately or illegally.

A legitimate agent provocateur may just say he dislikes a person, group or an institution and others may volunteer that they want to plot violence against that target and they may all agree to meet one morning with their weapons at the ready to attack. If the agent provocateur merely calls in legitimate law enforcement to get real criminals there is no entrapment, merely law enforcement.

The problem comes when the group is not ready to leap into action, then they are questioned by the agent provocateur to see what crimes he can get them to commit. It is all legal if the agent provocateur gets them to admit their criminality and then provides them with a controlled access to their chosen crime. Sometimes that all fails and the agent provocateur has to trick the targets into committing crimes they would not normally commit. That is entrapment.

An example based on new accounts:

Tax Evader Sam is a member of a hunting club with right wing members, the club is just a hunting club, not a political conspiracy. Tax Evader Sam faces 7 years in prison if he can’t deliver something better that a mere tax evader. The local BATFE leadership dislikes hunting, right wingers, and people who wear camouflage. Sam offers his fellow club members up to the BATFE as an insurrectionist gang. He wears a wire, and the club members are recorded expressing contempt for the BATFE, and the government in general, they hope the BATFE will be disbanded, they even express beliefs that BATFE officials may be committing crimes and deserve to be in prison for smuggling guns into Mexico. They just won’t volunteer to attack BATFE agents. This is not a crime.

Sam suggests attacking the BATFE, but the members reject this idea, but agree that if the BATFE acts illegally, and cannot be stopped by any other means, that they would do their best to save the United States. Still no crime.

Sam’s true masters make it clear either Sam, or the club members, must be arrested by the end of the hunting season, but they offer to help. Sam brings a silenced pistol, a homemade machine gun, a sawed off shotgun and some homemade pipe bombs to the next meeting. He tells everyone that these things are all illegal and have no tax stamps. He asks everyone to try these things, but asks them not to tell on him.

The stupid ones handle these devices, take some shots with the guns, and use a pipe bomb to blow up an old trash can outside the club house. These are all federal felonies. They all get arrested. The charges are possessing unpermitted, non-tax stamped, NFA devices.

Some will have good defenses, such as not handling the NFA devices, others may be able to show that they were entrapped [this is an individual defense] and some of them may be heading away for a long time in prison. Sam may walk on the NFA item crimes, but he may have signed an agreement that he did not understand and get sent to prison for the tax evasion anyway. He may get away totally free.

It is impossible to list every clue that you are being targeted by an agent provocateur. Things to look out for include someone suddenly interested in getting you involved in crimes. Resist offers to touch illegal things; that is possession, so don’t touch other people’s sawed off shotgun, illegal machine gun, or bomb. It is not entrapment if you have your own illegal things and tell the agent provocateur about them, but that is another conversation. Beware of someone was worried about massive legal problems that mysteriously went away who now wants you to do something strange, like overthrow the government.

Don't know about shooting them, but the Declaration of Independence does state that we the people have the right, the duty, to replace a government that isn't doing what we hired them for, and replace that government with one that does the will o f the people and insures our future security. The Black phone has been a top version.. You can use your old phone with the up grade. They run decent encryption and vpn, auto delete of messages etc..

Kinda my thoughts. Wasn't it Apple that just this week started deleting apps that they deemed conservative?
