Default Fly the US Flag in Distress as a Symbol??

If the country isn't in an emergency mode and in distress - has it ever been?

Not sure how to get a nationwide movement started - but thought a word here is appropriate .....

Please don't, especially on boats, or islands: Search and Rescue will be obliged to investigate.

I won't fly a flag upside down. What I do is, I use the forever postage stamp on mail. It has a U. S. flag on it. I put the stamp on the envelope upside down. Flyng the flag upside down is going to do nothing more than draw attention to yourself, and that isn't wise at the present time, IMHO. I believe it is much better to be like a Cotton Mouth Moccasin...be silent until time to strike. Then do so with a vengeance. But pick the time and place which will be to your advantage. Don't go charging into battle blindly and foolishly (Charge of the light brigade). Just my two cents, for what its worth.

An astute observation, sir. Those folks don't need any false alarms.

I'd say that would be an opportunity to flip theirs?
