Yes, it is a painful procedure. I remember my dad talking about it. I also remember my dad not following the orders on when he could start eating again, and what kinds of foods he could eat. He said the pain from the stomach spasms was worse than he had ever experienced before. You’ve got a large area missing inside you so it’s going to take time for all of the other organs to adapt to their new surroundings.
I know you don’t like pain meds but you really need to take them. They work a LOT better when you take them before you are in excruciating pain. Wait till then to take them and they will barely take the edge off. Take them as you start to feel the pain coming on and they work a LOT better with the minimum dosage.
