If 3 more Repukes defect, it won't happen until after the election.

Murkowski's remark that "fair is fair" is presumably a reference to the fact that Republican senators did not allow a hearing for former President Barack Obama's nominee Merrick Garland in 2016 during an election year.

Murkowski's position does not come as a surprise. Murkowski was asked about the possibility in August, back when it was merely a hypothetical, and she said then that she would not support such an attempt.

ETA: Romney and Collins just defected.

Call me "Crazy", but it didn't seem like they were settling down at all.

I was gobsmacked when the wife told me today.

I've been praying for the past 4-5 weeks over the Supreme court (generally for a year+, specifically as mentioned here a month or so)... that any Justice who renders decisions that are not in line with good jurisprudence, the dictates of their own conscience, and the strictures of the constitution... any who were influenced by bribery, extortion or other undue influence... would be removed that their place might be taken by one who would render just, right and fair decisions.

I never suspected Ginsburg of any of those.

I always thought her to be a true believer... that however off-base she may have been, she was at least 100% sincere in the decisions she rendered. After today I have to question that opinion.

Roberts was the one I most suspected, maybe others. But I phrased it so that the decision lay in the lap of True Knowledge and not my feeble and fallible opinions. Once you get the "ask" right, the "answer" comes a lot easier.

Just dumbstruck now. Things are about to get a bit crazy.

Imagine if there's a SCOTUS call on the election like there was Y2K. And a 4-4 decision. And an army of malcontents not afraid to burn it all to the ground.

Thought Kavanaugh had a bad time? That may end up looking like little league.

POTUS and/or administration insiders knew about this a few days ago when the revised list of short-listers was released. Bank on that.

    Mark Taylor says "5".
