There is a rapidly growing body of evidence that; every 12,000 to 13,000 years, the core of our galaxy sends out a big sheet of current and dust that destabilizes most stars. These stars destabilize and, in our case, send out a micro-nova to blast the planets. This HAS happened and, neighboring stars are ALREADY destabilized. Sol is starting to show signs. Like the ongoing pole flip, this cosmic blast is in progress. Most people will die.

Reportedly, the Chinese went to the far side of the moon to look for evidence of solar bombardment.
"In a paper published Wednesday in the journal Science Advances, a team of Chinese and Italian researchers showed that the top layer of the lunar soil on that part of the moon is considerably thicker than some expected — about 130 feet of what scientists call regolith."

As far as timing, the big cosmic phart is expected in the next 10 to 20 years. Further research will bring more accuracy. Current understanding and observation will give us a few days to a week of warning.
You can forget about wearing a tin-foil hat during the particle storm. It will become radioactive. It is recommended to wear a hat made from HDPE.

Every 27,500 yrs. or so it takes our galaxy to to orbit around the universe....and there is a section of it that filled with debris, a "dirty" section.
Within the orbit of our galaxy our system passes through a debris tail of a comet every year in the month of June. In the past some of the debris is of a size that it strikes the earth.
Author Graham Hancock in his book "America Before" documents how a meteor strike approx. 12,000 yrs. ago struck the northern ice sheets causing massive sea lever rise and ending the last ice age, and causing worldwide climatic changes.
Along with this it decimated the human race, which was advanced, back to hunters/gatherers.
This book not only covers America but other places around the world.
12,000 yrs. is only a minute of time in earths history and so is 27,500 too.
Hancocks' series of books answered a lot of questions I have had over my life as it pertains to history of mankind taught in schools which most of it was total b.s.

In the meanwhile, the sunspots will eventually knock out our grid. The University of Warwick claims that a new understanding of the sunspot cycle has led them to the conclusion that we will have a very high number of sunspots in the emerging cycle.
