"Home Invasion"
I'm currently reading a book by William W. Johnstone entitled "HOME INVASION". Story takes place in a small Texas town of Home. Couple of drug cartel thugs break into an elderly couple's home intent on stealing guns and killing the old couple. However, wife hears them and awakens husband who gets his pistol, .45 ACP, and goes to investigate. He thinks wife is just hearing things until he hears them whispering in the den. He turns on the lights startling them. One thug turns to point his gun at old man but old man is a shade faster, shooting and killing him, But as he is falling he squeezes the trigger on his gun (illegal automatic weapon, of course) getting of a burst. Bullets miss the old man but penetrate the wall killing his wife who had followed him out into the hallway. Other thug starts to raise his weapon but old man shoots and hits him in the shoulder with the first round, second round shatters thugs kneecap. Everything seems to be a pretty sound case of self defense. However, a high priced crooked, shyster lawyer from the big city (works for Mexican drug cartels, of course, and the elitist, extreme liberal, socialist President of the U. S.), files charges against old man. (moving forward a bit) When trial is over, old man is found guilty, thug is awarded millions in damages to be paid by the U. S. government, town of Home. Attorneys for gun manufacturers sold out also. Old man has a severe stroke and is in critical condition not expected to survive. Citizens of Home very angry, as is local PD. A ew more incidents happen...local two pastors have called for a town prayer meeting at the High school football field. Media shows up, Police Chief tells them they can't go in. They get pissed, telling Chief she can't deny them access; first amendment and all that rot...blah, blah, blah. Suddenly, sound of gun gunfire. Local town drunk has decided to shoot up the antenna on the top of news vans. (plays right into this blond bimbo news reporter's hands). (move forward a bit again) Liberal, socialist, gun hating, ego maniac President sends in Federal Protective Services (Federal police which was illegally established) and they confiscate the guns from the residents of Home. Other stuff going on also involving one particular Mexican drug cartel who has eyes on and plans for Home. Plus, a couple of CIA agents who have learned about some very nasty business planned for the U. S. citizens. Some secret and clandestine research and development going on at a location not far from Home, that the President and Drug cartel has named "Casa del Diablo. I'm about half way through the book and don't want to use of a lot of space, so I just gave some of the hi-lites for now.
Personally, I think all of you should get this book and read it. I know its fiction, but in todays political environment, and considering the scum who are seeking to become the U. S. President, I don't think it is so nearly fat fetched as might seem on the surface. Its a bit frightening, as well as a bit unnerving, to even THINK that such could/would ever take place here in America. But anymore, again considering the political environment here in America...as well as around the world...I don't put anything beyond the realm of possibility anymore. I learned a long time ago to "never say never". If you do, that's when you get bit in the ass...HARD. I think all of you would find this book quite interesting, and alerting to a possible scenario of what the future might hold.
