Default Winchester to Mfg Lake City ammo

Alarmists will have the sky falling, prices inflated and shortages as this is to happen during an election year. Winchester won the contract for Lake City ammunition plant for the Pentagon. Links to follow:

Just asking if anyone is concerned about tin foil hair on fire...? I buy better quality five five six than Federal reloads from Lake City.

Olin is ok. I doubt it will have any effect on price or supply.

Yep and they do pay a dividend and not sparsely either.

My experience with Winchester is limited to the AA shotgun shells in 12 gauge. The quality control process must have cancelled. 12 misfires in a case of 250. 3 shells that would not chamber and too many to count that would not eject. They were my GO TO shells for years and I would not shoot anything else in competition. Sorry Winchester, Ihave gone away!

IIRC Winchester ran that plant in the past: Federal will most likely run it in the future. Why is this worthy of much attention at all? The same people will be making the same stuff, on the same machines, using the same parts.

Winchester QC has been up and down, same as Federal. I had some WWB .45ACP bulk that had a couple of bad rounds in it. I was able to carefully run them through my crimp die and use them. I had these in the last 50ct box of Federal American Eagle,

Federal sent me a 100ct box for this screw-up, and told me to toss the bad rounds. Any bulk ammo is going to have foul-ups every now and then. Don't even get me started on the Remington bulk pack .22LR and no primer material in them.

Wow, is it quality control or negligence? Inspection scrutiny or incompetence? Just wow.

Bullet wasn't square with the case mouth, or brass wasn't expanded before inserting the projectile. I've had a couple that did that because the case mouth was oval instead of round. Yes, QC should have caught that, as it took some force to get them out of the plastic tray.
