The website for the manufacturer of the water storage tank in the link at the top of this page stated that they are 100% FDA certified for water storage.

me - if I brave death every single day of a serious SHTF - see my family in a likable situation - suffer thru God only what hardships to stay alive - most likely notch up a number of kills protecting me & mine ...

the last thing I want is to start crapping out years later from cancer and liver/kidney failures - just because I didn't bother reading the fine print on a storage container - couple that with the guilt of knowing I poisoned a number of people needlessly ....

I am DEFINITELY with you on this, IW. After all, prepping is what we do IN ADVANCE of an event, not after. If its post event it isn't prepping; its "OH, SH*T!!! And, to me, a large part of prepping is doing research on the equipment I'm going to use, and having/providing safe, clean water is paramount. After all, of all the things one can do without for any length of time....water ain't one of them!

if you keep an eye out on craigslist and local farm auctions you will come upon them from time to time.
I bought two at auction, they originally came from tractor supply - one of them was completely unused.
both are 500 gal, I paid $150 for each.
