Read somewhere that how electric car idea fails is due to big oil buys up the rights in the beginning of all the companies then limits them like crazy. I.e.
There battery tech and so on.
And also read it takes like 7 barrels of oil to make one tire. Plus a crap load of fresh water too.

Big oil is gonna get their money one way or another.
Meanwhile we just keep kicking the can down the road.
Watched the new aliens movie Last night and one android was talking to a new android and explaining why humans were going extinct... basically because of the above crap... but greed ie Money is the root and cause of all of it.

Yep, pretty much. There are several things you can do to make your internal combustion engine more efficient. They aren't easy to do, but they do improve efficiency. However, big oil has stopped it. The Pouge carburetor is one of those. Get an engine to run 100% on fuel vapor instead of trying to force fuel to vaporize and it helps improve efficiency.

An idea I had 10 years ago was to use the exhaust coming out of the engine to super heat water. This super heated water (about 400 degrees in temp) would then be injected into an expansion chamber where it expands greatly (1 gallon of super heated water transforms into at least 1,000 gallons of steam) and is then used to power a turbine. This turbine can either power accessories directly, or be connected to the crankshaft. I was researching getting a patent when I found that 6 months earlier both Honda and BMW both got patents for basically the same thing. BMW said this system improved fuel efficiency by an average of 18%.

There are other ways that you can really help internal combustion motors out, but if you come up with a new idea you better keep quiet about it, or tell the entire world about it.
Prepare for the worst, hope for the best

I'd like to see how they can make tires, batteries or any of the plastics used on/in any elect car without oil! Lol

Big oil not losing out on electric cars. Most electricity is going to LNG generation. What's to lose? Also, NG and electricity has no power for big rigs or long distances, so oil not going anywhere. Then there are the parts going in the Tesla that are plastic, and lubricants won't go away.

We won't need tires when we're all flying around or on horseback. 50/50 chance...........
