Default Any one in the Austin area got a Radio?

I've been thinking about starting a local prepper/info net in the local area.
Also if you got a CB,ham, or frs/gmrs radio it would probly be a good idea to knock
the dust off it and try it under real conditions before you REALY need it.

    Any one interested?

I'm interested but am about 2 hours north of Austin so I doubt my little hand held would hear and surely would not be able to talk.

Well first are you a ham? If so is there a irlp node you can hit send me a pm
and we can work it out.

If not see if we can find any members between here and there to relay.

    Where there's a will there's an inheritance.

Nope, not a ham. Just have a very basic hand held that I have never really messed with before.

I'm in Kingsland but on the water so kinda low, and only a tech so far, so power and frequencies are limited. I'm going to take the general next month, I think.

I'm in Round Rock. And 2hr North of Austin there's a repeater on a 1600' tower that'll reach here. So while your basic handheld might not work 91CavGT, a bit of study for your license and a $30 chinese radio, and that repeater will get you some really nice coverage https://i.imgur.com/XVVuMFG.jpg
