    Default Trump will annihilate Clinton

First off let me say that Trump is my 3rd choice.
I was for Rand Paul then Cruz, but I will settle for Trump.

Many of the political establishment (politicians, talking heads, lobbyists) are in a panic that Trump won't win in the general vs Clinton. These of course would be the same gang that saw no chance for Trump to win the Republican nomination which he is almost certain to do.

    Here are my reasons:

    1. The electorate is pissed off at anyone representing the Establishment and Clinton is that in spades. It is why an old codger socialist from a tiny state that wasn't even a Democrat a few years ago is giving her a run for the money. As one Trump voter put it succinctly, "We are voting with our middle finger".

    2. The vaunted enthusiasm gap. Whether or not it is the Trump effect or the voter mood, the Republican primaries have seen a huge increase in participation while the Democrats have seen a decline in participants. In the general, where a few percentage points will decide the election this is very important. Hillary does not inspire the democrats to turn out and she certainly does not appeal to many independents.

    3. Trump is a brawler, a junk yard dog, an ends justify the means guy. (like the Clintons by the way). He will do and say things no Republican politician ever would. Nothing is off limits for him. He will call Bill a sexual predator. He will call Hillary corrupt for outrageous speaking fees and ask what those people were buying. I can see him asking, "You have all heard her giving speeches. She is a terrible speaker, right? Not like me I am a great speaker, she is boring? Right. So those wall street bankers did not pay her more than you make in a year for an hour of terrific motivational speaking? It was a bribe clear and simple. I challenge her to release the transcripts to the American people so you can all see what was worth so much money. Then everyone will see the speech wasn't what they paid for. Trust me I used to bribe politicians myself. Hey you gotta play the system, but I am going to tear it down so we can Make America Great Again."

As evidence of his no holds barred approach I present Trump's opening salvo:

I've spoke to many democrats that plan to vote for trump. They had to vote for Hilary this time around but have no intentions to vote for her in the general election. Talking to my customers at each job has been quite interesting. These closed primaries are misleading. A lot of people don't seem happy with the choices they have on the democratic side. Even my bosses who are die hard democrats are voting trump in the general election. It is going to be an interesting year.

I am amazed that the GOP still doesn't get it. Maybe its a clear indicator of how far in the tank the party is, and why we have been so disappointed in our reps in congress. Trump was never really on my list, but I will back him. If party leaders do something to disrupt his run, I'll most likely follow him into a third party. I feel that I've had little if any representation for the last 7 years, so it would not be a change to split the party and loose.

That is another possibility. Tin hat or not, what with all I've witnessed within the GOP this year, all bets are off. We are really seeing how things work.

This election is a bear trap with teeth on both sides.

Trump may be saying some things a lot of folks want to hear. Whether he means any of them remains to be seen.

This is like that scene in Last Crusade. Don't reach for the wrong cup. Yet, we are reaching, not realizing the true cup isn't even on that shelf.

This is a set-up. There is no winning choice here, only illusion. Damned if we do and damned if we don't. It is their game and we are tricked into playing it. What else are we going to do? The slaves believe themselves free because they have been given the illusion of choice.

Yes the electorate is po'd. That's why the time was ripe for a ringer like Trump. They HAD to get people desperate for change to consider accepting a wooden nickle like him. He's fake, he's a fraud, a decoy, a fishing lure that this country is about to swallow hook, line and sinker.

I can't criticize anyone for how they vote this time around, as there are so many good reasons for voting AGAINST the other choice. Please, do go and vote, and savor the experience, take pictures, because it's on the brink of becoming an obsolete institution. We are the dog in the back seat being driven to the vet's office for what our owner's think is "for our own good". In their eyes it wouldn't do to be having us make our own decisions, so they control the "choices"we are offered, knowing that whichever we "choose" will be what they planned all along. We get to pick the red collar or the blue collar, but the destination is the same for either.

well those are some interesting posts, and i think pretty exemplary of how the electorate in general feels:

you can see why the party bosses (both parties) are tied in knots.
voters on each side are perfectly willing to blow up their party.

I actually think it is a general world wide revolt at the ruling elites.
First the Arab spring, then Tsipiras(sp?) in Greece, then Marie La Pen in France, Catalonia voting to secede from Spain, now the right wing chick in Germany, Gert Widlers (sp?) in Denmark, probably a few others don't come to mind.

Definitely not out of the realm of possibilities, but I think Trumps ego would prevent this...

Men greedy for money, power and ego gratification are easily led and easily manipulated, if the right bait is dangled. I have no doubt it's been whispered in his ear all along that he can have what he wants, just make this choice, now that one, good, good.... now this one... good... It'll be no different once he is in the Oval Office. Whether that is the physical machinations of the shadow elite, or whether it is the supernatural current that runs behind even THAT. And yes, I am a believer in the supernatural and have had just such an experience... turned it down... at the time I was sure I made the right choice, now, some days, I wonder, but done is done, I picked a side, I'm prepared to live with it.
