I actually just started watching Jericho again on Netflix after reading this thread I might have to check out Jeremiah too based on y'alls recommendations.

Does anyone know why it was canceled?

After finishing the season on Netflix, my wife did two things: 1) kicked our preps up as much as possible with SHTF Jericho style in mind, and 2) looked up why there was no second season. Her results: it was ran on a less than popular tv station, and they cancelled it for another show with higher ratings. BOOOO!!

Well they tried to cancel it after the first season, but there was such an outcry from the fans that they brought it back for a second season. Unfortunately, I think that was also around the same time as the writers strike in Hollywood, so that coupled with the fact that they didn't really want to keep the show meant that it got the axe.

just read something interesting about the Jericho show that wasn't publically known or realized back in the days the show was alive >>> the "morse code" that was part of the show intro was actually different with each episode and was a coded clue to that episode ....

going to pull out my DVD collection during the Christmas slows to check it out ....
