any thought on those Emergency-C packets , they claim 1,000 mg of Vit C + 24 nutrients with antioxidants, electrolytes , and 7 B vitamins ??

sold at places like Wal-mart and Sam's club, its a dry power pouch you mix with a bottled water and shake, it does fizz up....Flavored Tangerine and Raspberry and now other flavors ??

Right. Flavored water with vitamins added. As an electrolyte? Well, it might be better than plain water...but not much.

Or, you can use 1 level teaspoon of salt, 6 of sugar, 1/2 teaspoon of salt substitute...whichever works.

is that for a liter of water?

One more question...if somebody has to rehydrate from the runs or vomiting....how much of this solution would be needed to finish the job of total rehydration?
    Can you over do it?

    yes, per liter/quart of water.

They should keep drinking it until they're better, or dead. The best indication of proper hydration (without lab work) is the color of urine: It shouldn't have one.

And no, you can't over do it on ORS. You can, with plain water, because it can flush out the electrolytes: With ORS thats not a problem.
