Are there really so few preppers on Long Island?

    This is good advice.

The Aqueduct is used by walkers/joggers, but is not known to all that many. Few actually know how far it goes, and it keeps you off the main roads. Should at least get you out of the City without any confrontations. Just remember that in Ossining, NY is Sing Sing Prison and farther up is Indian Point Nuclear Power station. Personally, I'd go as far as the Tappan Zee bridge, cross into Rockland and head north/west from there.

Queens, NY here. Except for a tsunami or hurricane, is it really necessary to leave Long Island in the case of chaos and breakdown of society?

Long Island has some big parks.

Did you just move to the NY metro area? Don't get me wrong, I am planning on buggin in as I have no BOL, but LI, Queens included is packed in wall to wall people, mostly dumb asses if you ask me.

I drive weekly from Far Rockaway to Riverhead and many places in between, from further in and further out and it really does amaze me how packed in we are here.

You are, except that you are still subject to Cuomo's BS laws.
