I was going to suggest a ballcap and some type of sunglasses like wraparounds for any tea parties we attend!

You can place items under you cheeks, i.e. gauze, etc. , it will help, but you will then talk and sound a little funny. Best thing is know where the cameras are.

Sad that we live in times where we even have to talk about doing things like that

i have done face recognition software using this toolkit,

    http://www.neurotechnology.com/vl_sd...FY9M5QodU3TTIw

so I have more than a casual knowledge of the technology.

The best software uses a 3 dimensional solid model of your head, most use a series of points on your face (edges of eyes, pupil location, tip of nose, etc).

Face recognition works best when you look directly into the camera, so a ball cap would help. Also keep in mind that cameras looking at a severe down angle won't work well for face recognition.

I think, that the best defense would be a this:

That IR hat is pretty sweet. I may have to try to implement that to some glasses.

I was thinking IR hats would make a great side job. Sell them at crafts fairs and online.

yes, adding or removing facial hair will have some effect, but if your template was built with a beard and you show up in an image with a beard it will have little effect. However if you have different facial hair than your template that can have some effect, but most facial recognition works on the eyes and nose mostly.

another good defense would be the kind of glasses that change shade indoors and out.

the IR baseball cap would be the best IMHO.

BTW, IR emitters play havoc with the red light cameras also.
