I went to school for Radiology Technology several years ago, but never worked in the field after that. I was required to take CPR and first aid, but thankfully never had to use it. I need to take a refresher course and expand my medical knowledge though. I do not think that 99.9% of what I learned would be of any use in a real SHTF scenario.

In the academy we had CPR and 1st aid

I also took a life saving course from the Y and a couple "combat 1st aid calsses" as inservice training.

Then there were the medical elements of "mass casuality incident" training. Deling with chemical attacks/spills bombings that kinda thing.

Looking to get into some EMT classes if i can find the money

I'm a combat medic in the army but will soon be changing jobs. I'll never forget the great training I've received though and I'll keep my EMT cert current. My wife is almost done with her paramedic cert/associates degree in emergency med. Then she's probably going on to PA school.
