  1. My best advice is to store what you eat and eat what you store. Rotate Rotate Rotate.
Remember that Oxygen and moisture will ruin food quicker than anything.
I have alot of simple recipes I can send or post for simple meals that feed alot in one meal.
    Hope this helps , Joe
  2. We also have a wide variety of freeze dried foods. We have some from all the different companies. My spouse and I used these items in our regular diet for a while taste test. Best freeze dried foods are the fruits , veggies , meats and other basic foods. The ready made meals are "okay" some very good but have additives like any other meal.

I also have canned butter and canned cheese. Both very good and both long term storage.
I started a few years ago when I saw signs the economy might crash. My preps have taken off from there.

    is it worth it? YESSSSSSSSSSSSS
Take one look at the prices going up, millions of acres of farmland being destroyed by mother nature. At least we have some stuff tucked away.
I personally dont say to much on the board lately but, I feel the world we live in is on a collision course with itself and trouble is right around the corner.
You have car insurance? Why not insure the fact you or loved ones will eat?
  3. I have a wide variety of food storage. I have your regular family pantry type foods. Pasta, canned meats , rice are among things in the regular list. I have found the canned meats such as beef and chicken form Costco or Sams Club are just fine to cook with.

I also have food stored in Mylar bags with oxygen absorbers. Cookies , crackers and other snacks can be made to last longer that way. I just opened a mylar bag of wheat thins that the expiration was 11 months ago. They tasted like off the store shelf.
Also have a dehydrator and make homemade beef jerky. We also dehydrate veggies and store them same way.
