  1. Hey Gunny --

As far as I know, an actual "Kalashnikov" AK is illegal. A bunch of guns are illegal just by virtue of their name - Colt AR-15, AK-47, etc. AK-47 pattern rifles, like Saigas, are legal, as long as they don't exceed the "features" count. You're allowed to have a semi-automatic rifle with a detachable magazine and only one of the following features: pistol grip, folding stock, bayonet lug, flash suppressor or barrel threaded for a suppressor, or a grenade launcher. My AR, for example, has a telescoping stock that has been pinned in place with the pin epoxied in so it can't be removed, has a non-removable muzzle brake, and no bayonet lug. Nice and legal.

The CT Statutes on "Assault Rifles" are here. I know a good FFL who will gladly answer your questions and set you up with most anything you need. Very reasonable prices. Let me know if you need his services and I'll put you in touch.

Hey bud. Do you know if an AK is legal in CT? I was thinking AR but might go cheaper with AK (as soon as I can find one)
