That doesn't look so bad really, unless it rains. Looks like it could get slick. Back in the 80's I took a 3 month trip up into the Norther territories of Canada. I began in Sept. Everything was frozen through Saskatuan and up. I laid my roadster down twice. It was a hell of a trip though. I spent two months in a cabin watching the Bears.

Please be safe, enjoy your trip and take lots of photos!

    River crossing

There is a lot more videos that really show how bad OK is on towards the west panhandle.
That mud, is not mud, but clay when wet you can't standup in its so slick.
Much less lift your bike up.

Look up on youtube 'tat black dragon canyon'

If you find yourself in Colorado Springs needing a place to sleep let me know.
When seconds count the police are only minutes away.

    Thank you Militant_Medic.

There are two of us riders on this trip. Should have mentioned that before.
This other rider goes by the nick of Eggowafle.
He is about 36 yo, 6'2" or so.
Thought I'd bring him along to pickup my bike for when I drop it.
It's really his ride, I just asked if I could join him and he said yep...

If we run into trouble we might call you. Depends on what it is. Thank you.
I am carrying a SPOT and he has an Inreach by Delorm. Both of us have SAR insurance.

I don't know if I will post the link to my live Spot tracks or not.

The closest we will come to Colorado Springs, by crow miles, is 45 miles to the SW of C.S. at the intersection of hwy 96 and 165.
Eventually making our way over Marshall Pass and Ophir..
From what I have been reading on another forum, that both of those passes may still be closed when we come through.

With the new CO rule about requiring an OHV sticker for the passes, we need to find a place to stop and get them when we first come into CO.

This is going to be a long trip, somewhat looking forward to it and at the same time dreading it. Oh well.

To some extent I agree with "suck at both".
The DR comes the closest at being both compared to the KTM and KLR.
Tires and suspension modes on the DR make it more capable.

Somewhere on site is a thread about using the DR for a BOV.
It still has the CDI and VR you have to have spares for.
But not as electrical dependent as the KTM, KLR, BMW (adv).

If a larger fuel tank was available for the TW200 (5 gal or so), that is what I would like for a BOV.
