    Good find.

Note that, as posted on our MH cans category page, we always match or beat any MH dealer price.

BTW ... a couple things worth pointing out ...

    1. Food should not ever be taxed.

    2. We also sell on Amazon. That listing you linked to, the seller is clearancing that particular inventory, selling essentially at dealer cost. Why? Because when you warehouse inventory at Amazon, you have to sell the product fast. Otherwise after six months, you have to pay a steep penalty over and above the standard pound of flesh that they take. For some products it's not usually a problem if the seller is on his toes. MH food can be tricky though for a lot of different reasons and you have to stay sharp.

FWIW--our safecastle.com MH orders are dropshipped fresh from the MH factory direct to the customer, so there is never a question about how old the product is or where it has been or how has it been stored.

    #10 Cans — 30-Year Shelf Life

Best Survival, Long Term Emergency Food On The Market

Specially packed in airtight #10 cans, Mountain House freeze-dried foods have the longest proven shelf life available. Period. We confidently claim a 30-year shelf life, because our testing has shown the shelf life exceeds 30 years! We've had independent studies performed on actual 30-year-old product stored under real-world conditions, which weren’t always ideal — not on newer product exposed to an accelerated-time environment in a laboratory. In addition, we've personally tasted cans that were 35 years old and still taste great!

Our canning process meets stringent U.S. Military (MilSpec) specifications. Your food is protected until you are ready to enjoy it.

After opening, we recommend using the dry contents within one week for best results and taste, using the convenient resealable plastic lid between uses.

After hydration, treat any leftover hydrated food as you would fresh food.

Because we have the longest proven shelf life in the industry and the best flavor, it is easy to see why people consider Mountain House the best survival food money can buy.
