    Default New from Baltimore MD

My husband and I are both former USAF now living in Baltimore MD. We're both interested in survival in general, and I'm the one with an interest in and time to study up on prepping.

We're starting out with making get home bags and building up enough to survive a hurricane or earthquake aftermath in place.

We've got a small amount of camping gear, a month of food, a couple weeks of water, and I'm working on get home bags. The one for my car is complicated because I'm disabled and can only walk a couple miles at most with the aid of a walker or cane and can't carry much. So I found this site so I can learn more about prepping and see if anyone had any advice.

i was gonna say that too. the only hurricanes you should be preparing for are the empty 40'OZ bottles of hurricane malt liquor being hurreled by rioters.

Thanks for your service, and welcome. Good to have you, but sounds like your AO is pretty sketchy if you can believe what the sensationalist, er news sources put out there.
If I had a dollar for every time I thought about you, I'd think about you more often.

Welcome to the forums from another newbie.

In your "get home bag" make sure you put some sort of personal protection to handle the obvious looters and rioters that go hand in hand with any man-made, or natural disaster, they seem to thrive on it.

Welcome and Thank you for your service.

Some options for "carrying" things would be to use a game cart (could offer stability like a walker)

Or even one of those roll up blue snow sleds. You can put items on it and lash it down and pull behind you.

The important thing is you've already awakened and made positive steps. Don't get overwhelmed. Just do as you can.

Now as far as location. If moving isn't an option then make plans to E&E.
And by plans I mean like a minimum of three. 😊
