I belong to both. What one doesn't have, the other one does. Costco seems a bit higher end than Sam's. Costco has more "heat and eat" foods than Sam's. Sam's roasted chickens and pizza are better than Costco.....chris3

You're looking for the word "deep-seated" not "deep-seeded". Walmart also screws their employees out of full time status, and won't stock the morning after pill.

Since we live in hurricane central, and Florida emergency officials have already admitted that they have considered confiscation of supplies to give to those who have none and anyone having more than three days worth is hoarding, and since both Sams and Costco keep detailed purchase records of all their customers, making things easy for governmental officials (if they are so inclined), it goes without saying we don't patronize either place.
That's just our thoughts on the matter, ya'll are free to do as you please.

Well once we settle this one we should through BJs into the discussion. I have shopped at all 3 over the years and for us it has always seemed that we have only 1 of the 3 near us so that is the one we shop at. For the last few years it has been primarily BJ for us.

    Sam's has better hot dogs.

Time to head to Galt's Gulch, at least in spirit.

From my location, Costco is a 35-minute drive; Wal-Mart just 5-minutes, and personally, we dislike both. When it comes to prepper/survival tools, #10 cans of food, dehydrated meals and even MRE’s, I look on Ebay and try to find free shipping. This gets things I need shipped right to my door. I’m sure that the UPS and FedEx drivers hate delivering to my house. Over time I have had hundreds of pounds of small long lasting packets of drinking water shipped here as well as over 30 cases of military MRE’s, etc. You cannot find either of these items at Wal-Mart or Costco.
Using the Internet to search for and purchase most of my supplies gives me a much larger amount of items to choose from with the drawback being, I have to wait a period of time to have the items in hand. The thing here is; I am not buying these items as dinner for the week, but as piece of mind should something disrupt the ability to shop at local stores.
Yes, we shop at Wally World, but we pretty much wait until the trip is necessary and we have no choice but to go there…
I guess what I am saying is, Give it a try. Take a few minutes to look on the Internet for the supplies you need. Find the best deal and compare prices but don’t forget to consider the fuel etc in actually going to the store. You may still prefer finding your items at Wal-Mart or Costco, but for us, we prefer to shop on-line…

I believe Costco is considered more "upscale" than Sam's Club, and generally is reflected in the product they carry.

That said I think Sam's Club is generally cheaper though I could be wrong.

We only have Sam's Club here and I dislike it....not very big and has a bunch of useless stuff (to me) at not much better prices than Walmart.

I've never been to a Costco, but from what people say it's the way to go.

They are having issues in Arizona. Apparently, the only way a place of business can ban guns on its premises in AZ is if they have an Arizona approved no guns sign (laid out in AZ law). They don't comply, their customers can ignore the signs... until told "This is private property you cannot carry" that is.

The signed must list the Arizona Revised Statute which allows them to ban guns, a simple NO GUNS sign don't cut it anymore.
