I keep a lot of samples we get at work. Sometimes, we actually get useful samples like first aid, OTC meds, shampoo, soap, and toothpaste. There is a reason I applied for a permanent job there.![]()

Our insurance company at work was giving away a bunch of freebies this past week.
I grabbed a bunch of the 4oz hand sanitizer bottles and a handful of band-aids in handy 5-packs.
There were also pens and refrigerator magnets, but I let those go.
I, also, have scored big time thru Marlboro promotions. Years ago, when they first started with the miles, I scored 3 tents, 3 zero degree sleeping bags, 3 huge backpacks, 3 grills, 3 suede coats and upteem other stuff that I can't even recall. I also scored big on camel, 3 tv's, boom box, I don't even remember everything and Miller beer promotion scored me tons of racing stuff, beer tap, stadium seat and again, a bunch of stuff I don't even remember. I scored these things when I worked in a convenience store, the Miller beer guy gave me a whole roll of tickets for all the racing gear. One guy who's wife was a store manager gave me about 5000 Marlboro miles, they were divorcing and he stole them from her and gave them to me. Btw, I didn't smoke Marlboro and Camel and I never drank Miller beer.
I've always been a packrat so I save virtually everything. My DH gets mad when I save gallon water jugs since we really have no place to keep that many jugs but he collects wood which he'll never use so we're even. I'm also a crafter so I save everything that I think I "might" make a craft out of but never do. I can't think of anything I keep out of the ordinary because everything I keep seems ordinary to me. Clothes are an issue, I save clothes, kids clothes, our clothes anybody's clothes. I save jars, spaghetti sauce jars, peanut butter jars, lemonade bottles, we buy our bbq sauce at a smokehouse restaurant, they bottle their own in canning jars, I keep all of those. Bet nobody saves the straws from fast food drinks, I do, wash them out first of course.
I save foam and cardboard egg cartons...foam ones make an easy storage/sorting conatiner with all compartments. Cardboarn ones can be packed with dryer lint and filled with melted parrifen wax or candle stubs and used as firestarters. They will start even damp wood.

didnt see this one and it doesnt happen alot but when you throw old electronics out, take all the screws out of the and put them in a jar. I am all the time looking for that microscopic screw i dropped when I changed the batteries in the remote, so I go to my jar.
Mountaingoat, I bet I could put together two dozen computers from all the screws I saved from old ones. But they sure have come in handy at times.
I work at a urology clinic, they cater in every single day from panera bread. Sweet tea comes in boxes that hold one gallon bags on this inside, I take them out clean em with bleach and store em up for water storage. they have an aluminum lining and are real strong.

It shouldn't tick me off when someone posts a smart-aleck message on these threads, but it still does. At least on this site, thats kept to a min, not nearly as much smarty pants posts as other sites. God bless you all!
