After 60 years of no production , a new firm in North Carolina is producing new G21 Grumman Goose from original blueprints. :) I don't know how to post a link . The old goose is the ultimate "getaway to hard to find location" plane . It even looks beautiful .
Anyone remember Cutter's Goose ? Jimmy Buffit is getting one of the first .

here's the link: http://www.antillesseaplanes.com/biznc.htm

the goose is a favorite of mine as well. looks like these will be a mix of turboprops and radials. radial engines may not be too powerful but they are reliable to a fault.

Great aircraft;

Cutter's Goose (the TV one) was at Tom Reilly's warbird restoration for quite a while a few years ago.
Taxied past it a lot back then. Only got out and looked close once, but it was locked up, waiting for parts.
A real classic.

YEAH! :)

See what they say about like minded folks?

That has always been my all-time favorite plane too!
I dreamed of having one of those since I was a kid!!!

I was always partial to the PBY Catalina.
My fantasy was to convert one into a flying motorhome and visit some unique out of the way places in Alaska, Canada and the Caribbean islands.

Alan...you and I are more alike than I like to admit... :shock:

I saw a pic once in an Outdoor Life mag (maybe Field and Stream) when I was about 13...it was one of these...

set up like an RV inside (basic...not fancy) and it had landed next to this absolutely pristine mountain lake and they had a campfire and it was awe-inspiring...

With a 2000 mile range...you could definitely go places with something like that... :)
