View Full Version : UN sanctions scenario

I was working on my area's threat assessment last night ( something I should have had done by now ) and had some disturbing thoughts.
I've heard our imports exceed our exports and that 80+% of our food is imported.
The USD is declining in value.
In short, we - the US - are not in a very good position to care for ourselves.
With this and some other things in mind I've imagined a scenario where, once we've slipped far enough down the chain, the UN imposes sanctions against imports into the US that aren't to be lifted until the general populace is disarmed. I don't know if its even feasible but it was a disturbing thought.

Nope, I don't think the UN could do that because the US is a permanent member of the security council and we have veto powers. But you never know...

Under the right circumstances, I think the US would vote for such a measure. I'm sure there are several ways to smoke-screen it into something it isn't. For instance, foreign food is killing us, so we've got to stop it from coming in. China, for example. So few people know how to subsistance farm, that we would most certainly be doomed.

If the U.S. didn't export tons of food to every third world nation, and start making the countries that owe us money pay it back, this contry wouldn't be in such a bad spot.

Somehow, if it was a normal run of the mill blockade thing, it wouldn't really work as our Navy can pretty much take out anyone else.
I'm not going to say much else on the subject other than I think Prohabition would end up serving as a fairly good model as how to get around any asymetrical measures that may be in place.

Jimmy,
Why would our navy attack a UN blockade in defiance of a UN order that the US voted for? The navy will do as it is told, even if it helps the NWO enslave us or kill us.

This would be if they some how circumvented the normal roads for sanctioning.
Trust me, I know how scary this is, as I grew up in a Navy family, and have been a delegate in Model UN conferences (you do not realize how much I stood out, the girls liked me though)
I do realize to in all actuality that I could end up stationed on a ship that is enforcing said sanctions, and treating any runners we pull out of the water.
Everyday only re-enforces my lost faith in humanity as a whole.

I found this scenario intruiging when I posted it, I've since come to think that maybe its no different than any number of domestic scenarios leading to the same end: Totalitarian Government. This further led me to think that since they all share common characteristics dwelling on specifics is a moot point because you can prepare for them all ( assuming very few exceptions ) with one strategy.
Or am I way off base here?

I see some similarities.
