What do you folks here think of us running a virtual island of our own? Not like 'Survivor' where they vote you off or you win money etc...but a real as true to living virtual island type community.
Obviously most of us here have some resources and varying skills and knowledge.
Sounds sort of silly...BUT many of us here may never be in the situation to really make society the way we want it...but there are enough of us here who are like minded... we could do this for fun. And ya never know...it may help us build a community so when SHTF in real life we simply meet up and carry on for real instead of on the internet.
I suppose it would be like an ongoing story of sorts...???

I lived for 4 years on a relatively primitive island, if that counts. Imagine the Polynesian version of the "Beverly Hillbillies" (without the oil discovery) and you come pretty close. Fishing, traditional medicine, about one TV per 20 households, extended families, not much cash income to speak of but still getting by okay, etc.
Personalities of the people were very Uncle Jed, grannie, Jethro, etc., too, LOL.

Something along the lines of:
We figure out a governing system...
We figure out all things that are relative to having a small out of the way society...but it must be self sustaining. IE: Transportation, food, waste management, health care, work force, laws, etc.
Somewhat like the camp (the good guys ...can't remember the name) from No Escape.

The first step would be a basic constitution. We need some basics so we are all on the same page.

Are you sure you weren't in Wyoming? :)

Absolutely needed...BUT I think we need to see if there are enough of us here who want to participate...have a roll call of sorts and then draft something...or even have individuals (or small groups) draft something and then it's voted on.
