Very Nice Chi. I've always wanted to visit out there in Idaho. I'm originally from the upstate area of the People's Republik of New York, but now am in the Gunshine State. I miss the snow, but don't know if my thin-ass blood could handle the cold any more.

It's 80 degrees here today. Saw your pics and had to put on a jacket, though.

Uh oh, Ms Spam saw the pics, fell in love, and wants to know if there's a Walmart close.

Sorry, closest Wal-Mart is 130 miles from here about 3 1/2 hour drive.
The closest town is about 20 miles and has a small grocery store called " The Store" which all the meat and poultry comes from the surrouding ranches.

Has two gas station/resteraunt/bait/huntig/ammo outlet.

Has a post office but there is no mail delivery to houses, so you have to go pick up mail.

Two bars- one notorious for barroom brawls lumberjack style, the other, a VFW which is open to all and is basically the gathering place for the community.

We have one Sheriff's deputy assigned to three small and widely spread out communities. Whenever he comes to my village all we ever do is shoot. He shows up maybe once a month.

My little village has no stores or commercial enterprise of any kind.

The county seat which is the next closest town is 60 miles away. It has the only stop-light in the county and the only fast-food franchise, which is a subway. The county is 8503 square miles.

Damn, reminds me of Olmito, Texas ( southern tip) in the mid sixties;

My aunt and uncle had the only store/gas for about 40 miles. Right next to the Post Office. That was the town, surrounded by cotton fields as far as you could see. The temperature was a little different, though.

BTW, Ms Spam claims "mental cruelty" against your county and state. Maybe I can make a 4WD out of her Firebird.

I used to Admin a message forum called "Idaho Freedom"...and I love some of the folks I met. The owner of the site basically fell off the face of the planet (or hid somewhere in Idaho ;) ) and the site went away...but I did find the attitudes appealing and the land....wow...

I've been in Florida for 21 of my 37 years...but I have always loved and so dreamed of living in the mountains...I get all googoo when I drive up through the Smokeys....and I miss the Mogollon Rim out in central/north Arizona....that place...it's like being in Colorado or somewhwere similar...you wouldn't think it was Az if you ever went there...
