Apart from your Spidey Sense, your trusted pet ect., how do you secure you property? Off-the-shelf store-bought systems, or your own rigging? I'm interesting in any novel DIY ideas you might have to the later, as I'v recently turned my attention to securing m flat, and I don't want to spend too much money. Plus, maybe you know how to rig some gear that would, say, decapitate the unlawfull intruder. Certainly not something you'de get from a mainstreame security company.

Booby traps are illegal here so you cant have them. But when SHTF there are a lot of good tricks to stop an intruder. Shotgun aimed at a door with a string to trigger it, nails in a board under windows so they step on them when they come in, acid in a bucket above a door. You know it makes me wonder what you blokes in non gun country's are going to do when shtf! Can you still have swords and baseball bats? I hope so. Watch what you think the thought police are on their way  :freedom:

That's a no no in England. Don't you know you have to sit there and take it, stiff upper lip and all. By taking the initiative in debilitating the intruder, you open yourself to legal action by the Crown and civil litigation by the perp or his family.

Do yourself a favor, like the smart English before you, and leave the UK. I think there is enough room in North America for one more Limey.

But if you insist in remaing in that tiny island nation, try the coke bottle on the doorknob trick. At least it will wake you up, and can give the perp a good thrashing with your cricket bat.

Cheers.

Home Alone!

Well, when SHTF, Britain... it depends on how many people will actually buy ahead of time fire-arms on the black market. I'm sure it's not hard. Otherwise, no, we're fucked. Unless a million of us march on parliment, like in V for Vendetta. But in reality, They might actually open fire. The current controlers ren't quite so worn down as those in the film. Plus, a V type for back-up, toplevel decapitation ect. would be nice.

It's only slightly harder than weed purchases.

Yeah, but how do you know you're not getting wrapped up in an undercover sting operation? Correct me if I'm wrong, but that's a lot of fucking risk. Not to mention the stigma.

I don't see how you can think about committing a crime over there! With cameras everywhere and they yell at you if you get out of line  . Your pretty brave to even type anything on your computer. :) They probably have devices that can read every key stroke. Of course you are probably already on a list like most of us are so don't worry about it until they start what I call the round up! :soldier: :freedom:

If you have kids...you have built in booby traps. Ever stepped on a hotwheels while trying to sneak around the house...even with shoes on you can't be quiet. Never mind kicking the 'noisy' toy that goes off if you look at it wrong.
Have to be careful with any other booby traps as to not harm the kids.

Also have 3 dogs...boxer, pit, and aussie. The aussie will dance around and alert everyone (for at least 2 miles away) while the boxer and pit take care of business. Also both the kids and the dogs dig...so built in booby traps with
At the very least if someone did get far enough in they'd have 20 ga, 22, and 9 mm waiting for them and there isn't but 1 way off our land that's easy...and it's VERY easy to bottleneck.

Anyway...only way I can see someone getting to us before we had time to react would be an air strike. And they would have to come through the roof fast for us not to be waiting on them.

Those talking lamp posts are few and far between, at the moment at least. As for the cams, half of them are prolly fucking dummies.

Same as with the weed: only deal with people you know, people with street cred.

The alarm system in my apartment is a roommate who is up all night.

More reliable than a dog.
