Anybodyfind it odd the largest bailout in US history is taking place literally less then 2 months before Bushs term is over? I wonder how much of that 700 BILLION dollars will find its way to his posession?

I don't see a reason to think it's other than coincidence. At least regarding the Bush in office thing. It isn't coincidence it's happening however. I will say it will be interesting to see the mess the next President inherits.

Read the post - White House Admits It Drew Up Bailout Months Ago

The key line in that article is this - Fratto insisted that the plan was not slapped together and had been drawn up as a contingency over previous months and weeks by administration officials.(Italics mine - Wolf)

I don't worry so much about WHEN the bailout was drawn up, we have contingency plans for Gay Striped Martian Giraffe invasions from outer space, so why wouldn't they have plans in order in a time when the writing is on the wall? Remember everybody, the Prez doesn't make laws, the democratic congress has had 2 years to try to fix this thru regulation, and corporate transparency of dealings that were going on... NOBODY has fixed a thing, this is a bipartisan shit sandwich and we ALL get to take a bite. It isn't the job of a president to regulate businesses in a capitalist society, business regulations are the job of state, local and national government entities and when it all comes together it is the job of the government representatives to pass the regulations.

We'll be ok, were just charging it on our American Excess Card which we never pay the bill on anyway. It's gonna be a mess for a while, but I certainly don't see any reason to elect another party because the republicants didn't do anything. The demoncrats will do something, but it WON'T be the right thing either.

I already find odd that the oil business that has been doing so, so for years just booms as the president who is an oil producer comes into office.

It isn't the job of a president to regulate businesses in a capitalist society,

It is when he works for them and not the people.:(

All this is, is fallout from Bill Clintons failed economic policies, particularly him pushing Fannie Mae etc to write more subprime loans for minorities and those who cant afford them so he can get 'housing for all'

Republicans for YEARS have been warning of this happening and repeatedly tried to get something going and they were always shot down by the left and now we have our presenr pickle.

Dont worry about Bush, worry about the likes of Obama w/ the same powers

The urgency was fake, the spending outrageous and the govt. is lying as long as their lips are moving. I want a job at that wooden practice arrow company. It will likely be the only company left after Bushco finishes sending jobs overseas, scoffing up every dollar they can get their pudgy fat fingers on, and pushing the TAXPAYING AMERICAN CITIZEN into a third world existence. Then when we've had enough and revolt, the handy dandy Bushco militia comes out and stomps us into compliance.

Well, KLIN-TON had to PARDON everybody before he left, because NOBODY he hung out with was ever innocent; now George is making sure he has a nice BoD position with whatever banks are LEFT when he's done! He won't even be 63 yet when he leaves office, and the last former President who golfed away his golden years was Gerald Ford! Gotta find some way to put some food on the table and keep Laura happy! :p
