I was thinking what are the chances of other countries (china, russia etc etc)
saying to themselves that we (the US) is weak and is on the verge of economic collapse and trying to take US out?

Do you think that they might try?

Attack the enemy when they are weak type of thing?

I don't think that they would want to face the worldwide codemnation that would come along with that type of scenario. Not to mention that the American people have an extremeley unique way of banding together when facing adversity. Not to mention all of us rednecks with our very own small arsenals.

When China can deal us huge blows economically. Russia will want much of it's former territory back first but it doesn't mean that they are opposed to seeing us go down

I don't think they need to take us out, we're doing a pretty good job of that ourselves. However, keep in mind because the average citizen doesn't have any money doesn't mean the military doesn't.

They would be very naive to think they could overtake a country with the best military and the strongest resolve of its people. Sure, the American people are just fine with giving away their freedoms slowly and one at a time but if someone tries to take away all of our freedoms at once, you will see the whole country in arms. Our own politicians realize this fact so I am sure other countries do as well.

Our Gov has turned the heat up on the pot we are setting in..... While our eyes are on the Wall Street mess, look out.. There is always something else going down. Seems to me, the gov always wants some of our rights when a bad situation happens....

We may see other countries dump our dollar or we may be for a round of WAG THE DOG

This roller coaster is going and no one is getting off until the gov wants it to stop.

Why would another country want us? We are full of debt, oddballs and old farts....

I woudn't welcome the attempt - not sure why anyone would - doesn't lead to anything good. We are at war now and the economy is in the toilet.

I dont see a scenario where we could even be considered vulnerable to invasion by another country. I agree with Molivo, our enemies are here.

250,000,000 million guns in the U.S.A. I think they'll have a pretty tough time trying. Wouldn't welcome it but I could do my part to defend her.:rifles:

They don't have to go to war with us military wise. They are taking us over day be day economical. Where can you buy anything that isn't made in part overseas? I have an 1986 Ford F250 4x4 where many OEM parts were made in Mexico & other places overseas. I don't mean replacement parts I mean the parts that came when the truck was NEW. That was 22 years ago.
Why would anyone want to attack us when they just have to make products that we buy & will finance ourselves into a deep holes to own. Cellphones, computers, X-Box, I pods, cars, trucks, TVs, VCRs, shirts & jeans, shoes. boots & most of the prep stuff you guys buy. I'm sure nobody wants me to continue.

Why would China attack us? We are financing the build up of their millitary.

Why would Russia attack us? It's far easier to roll over Georgia than mount the massive airborne and amphibious attack needed to defeat the US. The complexity of massing troups in Eastern Russia, getting them across the Pacific and landing them without us noticing is mindboggling.

No, they are both just sitting back and letting us decay from the inside. It's much easier on them.

There's also the small matter of 10,000+ nuke weapons to deal with. i'd think they're a helluva deterrent.

IF there were going to be a attack on the US by "Terrorist " Then this would be a vary affective time to do it. Are we still at war... I have not heard a thing about it for a month now, its completely out of the news cycle. what a world.

Well, when the head of the FED back in '31 - a decided Germanophobe - decided to put the screws to the Germans, vis-a-vis margin calls, it brought about a collapse of the German banking system, the rise of Hitler & the Nazis and - ta-da - WWII. Kicking the giant while he's down - even if you ARE stronger (which China is, and together with Russia would DEFINITELY be!), generally leads to such things. :?

I wonder if official gummint policy would be, to fight NOT to win THAT war, too?

"They're sitting back and letting us decay from the inside".

Bad, bad Russians. Just sitting back and watching the poor America decay. Shame on them.

american banking in the toilet, going to get worse as credit card defaults rise, then (god i hope not) a socialist leader Obama gets elected.....

the parallel is a little disturbing.
