I was thinking about the probability of an EMP attack. Why would a rogue country/people wipe out North America's infastructure when there are so many theories of a NWO, black helicopters, FEMA boxcars, Rothschilds, and all these other global elites interests here? On the otherhand would an attack like this cause anarchy and bedlum and we would be at the mercy of a foreign invader? Those Globalist would be in another country and just use this chunk of land as a slave nation?

I would say that an EMP attack would be likely in the event of an all out nuclear war but not likely just as an attack by itself.

A nuclear device would have to be detonated at altitude to cause an Electromagnetic Pulse for maximum effect. If a rouge nation had already built such a device why just use it for an emp effect? Why not detonate it in a major city killing hundreds of thousands or maybe millions.

Not just at altitude, but in space, above the atmosphere. A multimegaton bomb would be required for widespread EMP. Flattening New York with it would be much more effective, like the man said.

Government and military electronics are already largely shielded, so the country could still function after an EMP attack (but probably in a fun state of martial law).

Imagine the stuff in Galveston happening in New York. What is that area population now, 10 million? Even if the Gov't, Fed not local, and the Military are shielded it wouldn't keep the isolated population from going nuts or becoming totally depend on outside help.
One big reason for using an EMP is that you could use an old beat up tanker, do a launch well off shore then sink the ship and leave the US struggling to figure out just who did it. If all that was effected was the New York Metro area it would cripple this whole country. A million people might even flee into Canada. Could Canada handle 1 million homeless people over night?

EMP is NOT just related to nuclear devices guys......

Best regards,

True, several militaries are developing non-nuclear EMP "bombs" which could cover a small area. Real small, much less than city sized.

As yet, I see no credible threat other than the Chinese or Russians who could launch and detonate a megaton level warhead in space above a location in the US. Unless you want to count our "allies" Britian and France. Someday maybe.

EMP could take us back to the 1700 and we would be in big trouble. This is where radios and anything electronic comes into play that wont help out at all.
