Purchase land. Buy BOV or have current BOV fined tuned to supreme running vehicle. Spend 1 week, 1 month at a time on newly purchased land learning the terrain. Establish 1 or more semi permanent locations for BOB. Build said BOB's. Stock.
Take care of any elective medical needs. Stock non descript track home. Take any training offered even if proficient in that area.

don't get those if you get a island in the states. there are a surprising amount of islands in north america for a cheap price. And the are on small lakes in the middle of know were, not on rivers so less likely to flood.

Blank Slate, 2 Million in Hand, 6 months until the economy, the way of life as we know it is gone for year(s).

A location near a lake in the Midwest far enough from radio active fall out and large populations. Try to locate it close to apple or other fruit bearing trees and is a good area you can grow your own food on.

Build a secure home with a Bomb style shelter below. The above ground house would be minimal, but secure and easy to defend. I would begin cultivating and growing my own food and get books on agriculture and plenty of seeds stored up. I would also stock up on MRE’s and other long term food and water stores.

I would have a decent arsenal and bows too, with books on repair and maintenance of these items and reloading equipment. A minimum of 1000 rounds per weapon. I would setup solar power, get several dogs for security and adequate food supplies for them and look into chickens and other animals I can eat and/or release into the wild that would populate and help feed me.

I would stock the lake I live near ;) Make sure I have hand tools to create furniture, a home ect... A good book on how to build your own log cabin ;) Spare fuel buried under ground for my needs such as a generator or truck. I would move and begin living there with my family as soon as I could and begin survival training with everyone.

Surrounding my new area razor wire camouflaged and boulders that would limit or slow down visitors. Make them come by foot not vehicle so I can control the situation better.

I would also look into cold weather tents and other accessories to help others and build my small community as they come. I would help my fellow men and women as long as they were willing to work to help the community as well. Carry your load ect…

I was out fishing on a beautiful lake and there was a island in the middle of it. It was about 3 acres in size. It had a large home made of stone from the area.The fishing was great there.You could swim to shore from the island very easily. This small island was for sale for a few hundred thousand dollars.I should of bought it. It was only 5 hours away from Chicago.A friend of mine owns a island in Canada with fifty acres. No way to get to the island except by boat.We discuss building on it. He wanted to just but up a small cabin as a retreat. I lost contact with this child hood friend a few years back. I need to go look him up. His island would be a great fall back. He also would fit in with my group since hes a warrior.With 2 million I would buy a large sail boat and cruise the world.

2 million dollars? I could definitely spend all that in 6 months. Cash, put on pre-paid cards, debit, savings, checking, every account I have, evenly.

First I move out of California into some other nearby forested state with cheap land and gun laws that allows me to buy guns and take them home on the same day.

Before I set out, I need a vehicle to drive around with, fuel sippy and great mpg, since I would probably use 3-5 weeks just to find the perfect property to buy. I like the Smart ForTwo Passion. I'll get a more shtf-oriented car later. 17k, which includes car, accessories, tax and insurance.

I'll need some land that is in the wilderness, but not too far away from a major city if I need supplies and what not. I see ads every now and then for large chunks of land between 50-120k.

The house I can get pre-fab and shipped, there some nice ones out there with silver LEED certification for about 150-200k. For water I would either buy property with water on it or drill/dig for it. Electricity Would be solar panels, wind, water (if applicable), a back up generator, and storage cells/inverter. Multiple energy sources means that if one broke I'm not out of luck. That would run me at most 600k.

I'll build a fortress of some sort nearby, probably a round tower-type of thing, with huge, thick stone walls and several floors and basement. Sort of like a ww2 flak tower. Another 250k.

The rest I would spend on supplies, for the ease of shipping I would rent the cheapest apartment in the nearest city to ship stuff to. I will buy or rent a big truck so I can move supplies to my forested retreat. That nearby town better have a couple walmarts, since 1 isn't enough when I have a million bucks. Even with the online store.

Visit local gun stores. Buy dozens of weapons I could possibly need. Order online for what they don't have. Buy ammo from walmart and online. Buy plenty of milsurps.

Buy a electric vehicle with easy-replace batteries.

Finally, start living in my new forest "retreat" and wait for the end to come. I would probably start a garden at home during that time, and frequently drive to nearby stores for anything that I don't have enough of or forgot.

Any else I have left I will buy gold and silver with it.

I would have it concealed either underground or below a very meager cabin or house. It would have about 3000 square feet of living room, multiple rooms, generator, nbc air filtration system, Hidden solar panels on the surface for alternative power, camera controlled remote turret guns(homemade with rc controlers), additional cameras to watch the property, the door to the shelter would be like a bank vault door, there would be a room for a hydroponic farm/garden. I have seen a shelter like this built for under 600k(less turrets and solar panels) so I know this is doable. I would use alot of the money to buy enough food to be sufficient for a long time. I would put the rest into more gear, ammo, and precious metals.

With that kind of money, you could easily have a machine shop build whatever turrets you want to your exact specs. I have done a number of fabrication jobs, and on every one, I would have been time and money ahead to have had someone else do it. But if you enjoy that sort of thing, then more power to you...;)

Alaska on a lake ,totally self sufficient home powered by wind, solar, and Geothermal. Completely furnished bomb shelter with a years supply of food and water. Helicopter lessons and my own Heli. All vehicles ( 2 of each for parts) run on Propane or natural gas, with enough of either to last for 2 years. Would look for a place that had Natural gas on it by the rights and tap it that would be even better. Also I would learn to fly and have a sea plan for longer trips. That would be a good start.
