View Full Version : Why so many dang churches???
My BF and I have been noticing all these churches popping up lately. If you look for them, they are EVERYWHERE!
Now, one might say that they are due to different religious beliefs or just different.
But I say they are in it for the big fat MONEY!!!
There has to be like a thousand or more just in Pinellas county. Now, why don't they just get together and make on big church. Ya know, combine the money to make one big strong church. They could work together. <ya right>

It is sad that some scoundrels are in it to make money. Alot of churches are formed because one faction gets in a pissing match with another. They end up taking all their toys and leaving the game.

Could it be that there are a lot of sinners?
But you are right IMHO. Follow the money..

I'm not a church goer myself, but I have visited quite a few. It seems that a lot of the newer churches are more like country clubs, big buildings, lots of members, sports programs, busses for big trips, etc.. I once worked with a block mason in East Tennessee who was a pastor of a small church. He worked five days a week laying block ( BTW this is hard work for those of you who have never participated in this activity ), on Sunday he was the Pastor to his small congregation which was around 40 - 50 people. They met in a small church that would barely accomodate the lot of them, and they were nice and sincere people. The pastor never accepted any of the offering money for pay, but used it for members, or people in the community who needed financial aid. That is a far cry from the mega churches I see going up around Atlanta now. Unfortunately I have to view the big churches with a suspicious eye, and have a gut feeling they are all about big money. Happy Ishtar ( Easter ) to everybody, this is an ancient pagan Sumerian fertility festival. Jesus arose from the dead on the first Sunday after Passover, sometimes they will share the same Sunday, not this time, LOL.
IMO, Because these people need something to look up too. The news media is spreading all this global warming end of days nonsense. So the con-artist looking to make a fast buck are popping out of the woodwork starting new churches (cults) to prey on the weak minded lost soles.

We all know that religions can be used as tools to sway the masses into doing rediculous things for the government. Like it or not Major Churches invest in defense companies. But they hide from critics by cloaking themselves as "religion" in general. For example Israel deflects critics of its political fascism to be critics of Jews in general as people. Holy rollers deflect their critics to be attacks on Christianity or morals in general. We have to break down this protective mask of "religion" which hides the businesses and the politics of the insane.
