...the electronic voting machines like Deibold are crap?

1. The software for the electronic voting machines is not available for code review by more than 1 person. What if there is some code in there that can be exploited? Its happens all the times with software, ever taken a look at MS WINDOWS?

2. The diebold machines are crap....so many universities such as Princeton have showed how to exploite the machine. HBO released a documentary called "Hacking democracy" which showed them exploiting a machine. And the funny thing is that the demonstration was shown with the Florida election supervisor Ion Voltaire Sancho.

3. Two brothers, Todd and Bob Urosevich run the 2 top election voting machine companies, ES&S and Diebold. Read more why this is imporatant. http://www.onlinejournal.com/evoting/04 ... andes.html (http://www.onlinejournal.com/evoting/042804Landes/042804landes.html)

HOW ON EARTH does the american people allow this to continue? At least in some cruddy states like the one I live in, Maryland, have banned diebold voting machines. But until they are totally banned how the heck can you trust the elections?

Why do you still vote when one of the political parties, cough cough democrats, excuse me, has dead people on the polls and they vote in elections. Or they still practice the early American artform of buying votes from seniors, the indigent, porrly educated.

yeah we at least have to try to fix the corruption through peaceful means. :bang:

you are right though and part of me thinks that our beloved republic was transformed into a 'democracy' for the sole purpose of making it easier for the crooks to get their buddies into government. in a republic it's all or nothing, in a democracy it's 51% over 49% which means you only have to persuade the masses to win a vote, and when you're shilling out the big bucks to the mainstream media then right there is your persuasion.

Yea i read that. I read that over 20.000 people that voted for Kerry got the message at the end of the voting that said, thank you for voting for Bush. Thats only 20 k that said anything, who knows how many more it happened to that just dismissed it as a fluke. :freedom:

If 3/4 of Americans voted for the same person it would nulify the voting fraud. They don't have the power quite yet to steal all 50 states. Ron Paul is Americas last hope

I'm with PAian on this - there's a lot of hanky panky going on at the voting booths, and we all know this, but they still aren't in full control yet, just look at the recent handgun murders, and the anti gun crowd is afraid to stick their head out of the hole they're hiding in - why??? Because they are afraid of voters backlash! We have to continue to vote if we expect to hang onto our guns without having to go through a Civil War to do it!

Hanky Panky has been going on for elections since elections were first held. Electronic voting is really not the point. As was said earlier, we have DEAD people voting here in Florida. NY Democrats vote down here and send in their absentee ballots to NY, effectively voting twice. Candidates pack busses with elderly and drive them to the polls with the promise of a free lunch when they get back.

As for the electronic voting machines, do you really think the chads or paper ballots or mechanical voting machines were any better? Who counts the votes in the Elections Departments? Who watches the counters? Who watches the watchers. Jimmy Carter? I think not.

As imperfect as the system is, it's still the best in the world.

I vote until it's crushingly obvious that other means are the only way to go.
Work thru the system as long as possible, then break the system when it becomes Draconian.

Here's the shirt I'm going to make for next election:
