Dont know about all that in the first message, I dont think we will have that much of a friendly loss in US casualties and I dont think Syria will launch unprovoked at Israel knowing they have a nuclear arsenal. I dont think Iran has a strong enough NAVY to compete with anything the US has in the water so I dont think they will secure the Gulf of Hamuz in any form or fashion. Seems like some left wing moron speculating himself/herself about how they "think" the war will turn out.

I like in the first article how the writer say its as bad as it could get, WTF? It could get way worse than that, what about Irans allies retaliating against us, public riots, civil war, it can get way worse. Dumb ass sheep WTF? What happens if the Iranian army decides to say invade Iraq, why not their country is radiated for a little while. The Iranians have 1000s of rockets not accurate but can pound the hell out of what they hit, and they can hit our troops in Iraq and Afganistan, along with Israel. Maybe they still have some gas left over from the Iraq-Iran war so they can gas our guys. WTF? Yea it can get way worse! While our country is a hot mess maybe terrorist will visit us with another nasty surprise. Folks need to get it together!

There is not really a reason to send ground troops into Iran though, just bomb the living crap out of their nuclear and military facilities I don't think that we plan on staying in Iran like we are in Iraq. Look we told them to stop with the nuclear stuff we told them to stop sending men and supllies into Iraq and they did not listen their president keeps saying that there will be No U.S. soon, and Isreal will be wipped off the face of the planet and he keeps trying to obtain a nuclear weapon and he keeps send crap into Iraq to kill our Brave men and women. So why don't we just say F you and bomb the absolute living crap out of them with out even sending any ground forces in there we are not trying to liberate them like we are with Iraq so no need for massive ground troops(ok ok we might need some special forces and stuff like that but I am convinced that we are already sending special forces in there)

Ground troops would be needed to stabilize the oil fields because of the effect an attack on Iran would have on the global economy.

The ecomony will collaspe so we won't need the oil anyway from there. We will just have to make due with the oil we been stocking. Gas rationing will start and this country will pull together to resolve this problem.

If just once the USA would destroy most of a country, the rest of the world would shape up, but we wont. an old military saying from a certain group of operators, "Dont make an enemy a gift of his life" which means kill him immediately with much malice.

Iran's nuclear facilities are buried as deep underground as they could get them and as fortified as an oil-rich, national budget that doesn't care about its population could afford. Our current "bunker busters" probably wouldn't harm them at all, it's going to take a lot of boots on the ground and huge demo charges from inside to take it out.

Some interesting reads to say the least, depending on wind conditions the fallout can travel a ways. I hope they warn our fellow soldiers over in Iraq and Afgan that if they would not already be fighting on the borders or with shia rebels/militias. Ole Sadr might get all rawled up about us attacking Iran and send his Army out for some more trouble. Same with fighting down in Najaf.

Can bunker busting be achieved at lower and lower levels underground by bomb after bomb after bomb after bomb after bomb, etc. etc. etc. until the crater is deep enough for a bunker buster to penetrate? Or is that being to logical or simplistic?
