My Friend Brett Bentley RIP 6-18-2008

My best friend shot himself tonight guys. He was one of those people who would take his shirt off his back to give to a friend. I am going to miss you Brett, I won't forget!

Sorry for your loss, I know what it is like, both my uncle and father shot themselves about 5 years apart, both had illnesses, Uncle had throat cancer and father was wore out, he had osteoparosis(sp) he would sneeze and break ribs, along with other medical conditions. Hang in there.

Guys, it is been a really tough day. Thanks for the support and it was all over a girl. I spoke with his father today and I received the news that he used a gun i had sold him. My heart just broke and I fell to the ground. I don't know how long I was down there but i know i was surrounded by family and friends, Brett was like a brother to me. This is just really hard on my family and his. If you pray please pray for me and mine and for Brett and his father Steve.

Footprints

One night a man had a dream. He dreamed He was walking along the beach with the LORD. Across the sky flashed scenes from His life. For each scene He noticed two sets of footprints in the sand. One belonging to Him and the other to the LORD.

When the last scene of His life flashed before Him, he looked back at the footprints in the sand. He noticed that many times along the path of His life there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times of His life.

This really bothered Him and He questioned the LORD about it. LORD you said that once I decided to follow you, you'd walk with me all the way. But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life there is only one set of footprints. I don't understand why when I needed you most you would leave me.

The LORD replied, my precious, precious child, I Love you and I would never leave you! During your times of trial and suffering when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you.

I've drawn comfort from considering this story more than once now, and felt it was worth sharing. Hopefully it brings some comfort to you, however large or small. He will carry all of you through this.

Sorry to hear that ZH, it's tough to lose people like this even if you're not close, like you guys were. One of my high school girlfriends hung herself recently because of marital issues, haven't seen her in years, but it was still tough. You and his family will be in our prayers.
